This Privacy Policy explains how Latom Developments Inc. ("Company," "we," "us," or "our"), operator of TradeCertify (the "Service"), collects, uses, and discloses information in compliance with the Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA) and applicable Alberta privacy legislation.

1. Information We Collect

• Account information: name, email address, phone number, and password used to register and log in.
• Business information: business name, business contact email, phone, and address you choose to provide (some of which may be displayed publicly via your Packet Page, at your discretion).
• Uploaded documents: licenses, insurance certificates, WCB clearance letters, and certifications you upload, which may contain personal or business information.
• Payment information: processed directly by Stripe; we do not store full payment card details.
• Usage data: general information about how you interact with the Service, for the purpose of improving it.

2. How We Use Your Information

We use the information we collect to: operate and provide the Service; process uploaded documents using AI extraction; send renewal reminders and account-related communications; process subscription payments; respond to support inquiries; and improve and maintain the Service.

3. Third-Party Service Providers

We share information with the following third-party service providers as necessary to operate the Service:

• Anthropic — uploaded documents are transmitted to Anthropic's Claude API for AI-based data extraction (issuer, document type, expiry date).
• Supabase — hosting, database, authentication, and file storage.
• Stripe — payment processing.
• Resend — transactional email delivery, including renewal reminders.

These providers are contractually and/or technically permitted to use your information only to provide services to us, not for their own independent purposes.

4. International Data Transfers

Some of our service providers operate servers located outside of Canada, including in the United States. By using the Service, you acknowledge that your information may be stored, processed, or transferred outside of Canada, and may be subject to the laws of those jurisdictions.

5. Public Packet Pages

Information you choose to include on a Packet Page (such as business name, document status, and optional contact details) becomes accessible to anyone with the link, without login. You control what is included and with whom the link is shared. We recommend only sharing your Packet Page link with intended recipients such as clients or general contractors.

6. Data Retention

We retain your information for as long as your account remains active. Upon account closure, we will delete or anonymize your information within a reasonable timeframe, except where retention is required for legal, accounting, or dispute-resolution purposes.

7. Data Security

We use reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect your information. However, no method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

8. Your Rights

Under PIPEDA, you have the right to access, correct, or request deletion of your personal information, and to withdraw consent for its collection or use (subject to legal or contractual restrictions). To exercise these rights, contact us using the information below.

9. Cookies

We use essential cookies necessary for authentication and basic functionality of the Service. We do not currently use third-party advertising or tracking cookies.

10. Children's Privacy

The Service is intended for business use by individuals 18 years of age or older. We do not knowingly collect information from minors.

11. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by an updated "Last updated" date. Continued use of the Service constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
